Privacy

The short version

Wakel runs on your computer. Your files, chats, memory and the things it does stay on your Mac or PC. We don’t run servers that see your work, and the app has no ads, trackers or analytics.

What leaves your computer

• The AI model you choose. When you use a cloud model (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini…), the text of your task and what the agent reads for it go to that provider, under your account with them. Local models (Ollama, LM Studio) keep everything on your computer.
• Channels you connect (WhatsApp, Telegram, email…) carry the messages you send through them.
• Websites the agent opens for a task see an ordinary browser visit.
• Shared projects you create are sent directly from your computer to the people you invite, end-to-end encrypted.

What we receive

• Purchases. Lemon Squeezy is our Merchant of Record: it takes the payment, handles tax and sends the receipt. We receive your name, email, country, order and license key — never your card details.
• Your email, if you sign in to the app with it (a one-time code) or write to us.
• Messages you send through the help form, with any screenshot you attach.
• License checks: the app checks the license key with Lemon Squeezy about once a week.

How we use it

To deliver and support your license, send the emails you expect (receipt, gift, sign-in code, replies), prevent abuse and meet legal duties. We don’t sell or rent personal data, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Services we use

Lemon Squeezy (payments and licenses), Resend (sending email), Cloudflare (hosting this site). Each processes data only to provide its service.

Keeping and deleting

Order and license records are kept as long as the law requires for invoices. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Ask us to delete your email and messages at any time; data on your own computer is yours to delete — uninstalling Wakel and removing its folder (~/.wakeel) removes it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under Saudi Arabia’s PDPL, Egypt’s PDPL or the GDPR) you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to its use. Write to us and we’ll answer within 30 days.

Children

Wakel isn’t meant for children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll say so on this page and, for customers, by email.
